Loss to the world of international culinary: American chef of Indian origin, Floyd Cardoz, died last Wednesday (coronary disease) at just 59 years old.

Carduz made a significant change in the connection between Indian food and American cuisine. He began operations in Manhattan in 1998, when he opened a reputed restaurant along with New York restaurateur Danny Meyer. He was widely praised for this restaurant by New York Times food critic Ruth Reichel, who wrote that, "I've always been waiting for such food, American food that is well-seasoned with an amazing variety of Indian spices and flavors."

Later on, Cardose became a global figure in the field of cooking and was highly regarded and admired by chefs and cookers throughout the world. At the time, he told CBS that, "I wanted to be a biochemist but turned to the restaurant business."

As part of his activities, he has authored two successful cookbooks, and recently filmed for Netflix a series on Indian food in India with comedian and American actor Aziz Ansari. With the announcement of his death, many key figures in the American cooking world expressed great sorrow. The well-known chef, Michael Anthony, said of him, "He was an inspiration to us all, upon his death the cooking world lost a very important character."

Renowned Indian cook and book author Madhur Jafari expressed grief and said that "I'm really in shock. He could have done so many more things, it's a huge loss to the cooking world." Carduz was nominated for the James Beard Award four times and won Top Chef Masters.
