The overall number of infections in Spain currently ranks fourth in terms of the number of infections after China, Italy and the United States with 56,188 verified cases of infection, compared to 47,610 verified cases on Wednesday, an increase of 8,578 in the number of verified infections in the country.

Spain is the second European country after Italy in terms of the severity of the virus's infection in the country. Despite the relative decline in corona virus deaths over the past day, the Spanish government has decided to extend the quarantine in the country, which was due to end today, by April 12. The Spanish Parliament convened today and approved to extend the emergency orders issued to tackle the spread of the country's corona virus.
