The Tunisian Parliament adopted on Saturday a text strengthening the powers of Prime Minister Elyes Fakhfakh, who will be able to legislate directly for two months, in order to accelerate the adoption of measures to cope with the coronavirus pandemic.

With 178 votes for in a plenary vote, partially conducted by videoconference, the Parliament temporarily entrusted part of its powers to the head of government.
