The 14th edition of Jema, which was originally scheduled to take place from April 3 to 13, has changed to digital.

Failing to be able to take place as usual, the European Days of Crafts (Jema) play the extensions on social networks. Canceled like all sports or cultural gatherings, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 14th edition of the Jema, which was originally scheduled to be held from April 3 to 13, has changed to digital. Traditionally, this event is an opportunity to discover crafts and excellence in places of creation, heritage or culture, which exceptionally open their doors to the general public.

To support art and living heritage professionals, despite the health crisis, the National Institute of Crafts (Inma) launched the #JEMAchezmoi operation on social networks. Many artists have been able to open their workshops virtually to art lovers and allow as many people as possible to benefit from this opportunity. The initiative is extended until the end of confinement. Among the major institutions organizing these virtual tours, we notably find the Palace of Versailles (here, the restoration of a work) and the Magnin Museum in Dijon. The Tissage Moutet company, certified as a living heritage company, as well as the La Bîhe natural dyeing workshop offer tutorials. Demonstrations of know-how, such as those of Camille Orfèvre, in Paris, or of the house Au Cœur du Papier (binding and restoration of old books), are also to be discovered on social networks.
