Within the framework of the "National Campaign for Emergency Social Response" that was recently approved by the Council of Ministers to support the most needy groups and segments, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor started its procedures on the ground by launching a digital channel, distributing food and health baskets, and forming volunteer teams in various governorates.

The digital channel aimed at collecting data and requests for the most needy groups launched by the Ministry this evening in cooperation with the company "MTN" for communications as the channel started, according to the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation in the ministry Mahmoud Alkwa to receive requests from all governorates for the most needy groups of the elderly 70 years and over and families that It takes care of the disabled, the daily workers and the self-employed whose work was suspended as a result of the precautionary measures taken by the government to deal with the Corona virus.

In the statement to the SANA delegate, Al Kuwa Show stated that any person from the above-mentioned categories can enter the digital channel and record his data through an easily available form that anyone can deal with, indicating that this data aims to count the number of beneficiaries of the campaign and add their information to the database of the Social Insurance Organization and the Federation of Workers And craftsmen help to reach them accurately, thus expanding the umbrella of social protection for all who need it.

On the other hand, and within the executive procedures of the campaign, the Ministry, according to Alcoa, formed volunteer teams with a number of ten thousand and eight hundred volunteers from various governorates. These teams work with neighborhood committees and administrative units and in coordination with the ministries of Social Affairs, Labor, Local Administration, Environment and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.

The volunteer teams, according to Alcoa, are working to help distribute food baskets, as the campaign through them and with the participation of a number of NGOs has distributed eighty thousand food and health baskets so far in Damascus, its countryside, Tartus and Lattakia, pointing out that 375 warehouses have been equipped to supply food and health materials to be distributed.

The volunteer teams also assist people who cannot register in the electronic digital channel, especially those with disabilities and the elderly, to enter the channel and fill out their data, so that these categories are exclusively set up.

On the other hand, the Ministry formed, within the campaign, volunteer teams working in the health field, and their number reached two thousand three hundred doctors and nurses to support the activities and works implemented by the Ministry of Health in all governorates.

Alcoa pointed out that the ministry also allocated a bank account in its favor to attract financial contributions and allocate it to support efforts to reduce the burdens on workers and address the social repercussions resulting from precautionary measures to tackle the new Corona virus, explaining that the value of the amount of “unemployment allowance” will be determined according to the data and numbers that will be collected through The digital channel and its stakeholders will be presented through the Ministry's National Social Aid Fund.

Alcoa indicated that the Ministry has circulated to its directorates not to accept the registration of any resignation of workers from the private sector “during the current period” to ensure that no workers are laid off in addition to the follow-up of employers in this sector and ensure that they continue to give their employees salaries, in coordination with the Workers and Crafts Federations and the Chambers of Industry and Trade stressing No complaints have been received yet about that from any worker.

It is noteworthy that the cabinet approved on the fifth of this month, the “National Plan for Emergency Social Response” with the aim of mobilizing all the efforts of the official authorities concerned and the civil and local community to support the groups and sectors most in need after exploring all the necessary data in coordination with the federations of the concerned chambers and the Federation of Trade Unions and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor .
