Bridge chairman, who split after Labor and Meretz elections and has been criticized, moves to the right bloc "

Bridge chairman MK Orly Levi-Abaxis announced on Facebook today that he supports the mandate of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The move was made 36 hours before the mandate of Blue and White Chairman Benny Gantz ended to form a government, and after Gantz sought an extension from the president.

"New situation - a realistic conclusion," wrote Levi-Abaxis on Facebook. "Gantz's appeal to the president of the state to extend the mandate is a message in his inability to form a government."

"It was designed to earn time as a means of exerting pressure on stuck negotiations. Pressure whose purpose is to squeeze from the other side more concessions and political centers of power - this in addition to the rotational and individual representation that goes against any logical proportion in a normal situation.

"Negotiations that started out of concern about the danger of the Corona have become a strange political mischief accompanied by threats to the Prime Minister: If you do not respond to our demand, we will submit to the Knesset bills that will personally disqualify you from doing so. It is amazing to hear such selective morals from the mouths of those who promised clean politics.

"In the created situation there is only one way to get out of the maze, is to acknowledge the facts:

1. The Likud is the largest party in the Knesset

2. The Prime Minister is supported by the largest political bloc in the Knesset: 59 Knesset members

3. Even in a situation created by the government, it is possible, and can be criticized, but it is still functioning and not falling apart.

4. For these reasons, the prime minister must be given the mandate that let's face it, only if he has the chance to form a government.

In response to the recommendation of Orly Levi Abaxis to impose a mandate on Netanyahu, MK Meretz MK Nitzan Horowitz said: "Orly Levy does not represent and chooses one of those who voted for our list. Her contemptuous move is actually stealing left votes for personal pleasure.

The political bribery agreement between Levi Abaxis and Netanyahu must be disclosed immediately. The President must ignore its recommendation and not give a hand to the political deception and continue the trampling of trust between the public and its elected officials. "

After the election, Levi-Abaxis decided to oppose the establishment of a minority government with the support of the joint list and expressed no support from any of the candidates, criticizing the left-wing bloc after running with a bridge faction together with Labor and Meretz (who have also split since). Now, Netanyahu has 59 supporters and in fact lacks only two MKs to form a government independent of white or Labor blue. This improves his position in negotiations with Gantz on the unity government.
