The heavy rainstorms in Lattakia Governorate led to the filling of the Dam Dam, which reached its greatest extent today, and its water flow began to work.
The director of water resources in Lattakia, Engineer Nabil Hassan stated to SANA that the volume of storage in the dam reached 97.8 million cubic meters to start overflow, pointing out that it is the third time since the dam's investment began in the year 1996 when the volume of storage reached its maximum after 2003 and 2013. .
Hassan pointed out that the volume of storage in all 14 dams invested in the governorate amounted to 360.5 million cubic meters today, out of a total of 366.45 million cubic meters, and that the spillway works in 10 of them.
The Dam Dam, according to Hassan, contributes to irrigating 7961 hectares of agricultural land, which reflects positively on the agricultural reality in the governorate.
