The precautionary measures taken by government institutions to deal with the Corona virus varied between sterilization, cleaning and transporting garbage to securing vegetables to neighborhoods by mobile cars at cost rates to encourage citizens to stay in their homes.
Al-Ali said in a statement to SANA that many areas of the capital were also cleaned and sterilized, including Al-Maysat Square, Al-Taliani, Al-Afif, Asad Al-Din, The White Bridge, Sheikh Muhi Al-Din, Rukn Al-Din, Abu Habla, Al-Jazmiyat in the field, Damar Al-Gharbia, Autotrade Hamish, Masaken Barzeh, and Garage of Sayyeda Zainab.
The workshops also carried out cleaning and sterilization work according to Al Ali for the roundabout of the chapel door, Al Mujtahid Street, Khalid Ibn Al Walid Street, Al Nasr in the canals, the vicinity of the Armenian Garden, the churches of St. Paul and the Prophet Elias, the entrance and street of Al Bara Mosque in Al Duwailah, the Pullman Garages and the Abbasids.
Colonel Haitham Keshto, commander of the fire brigade in Aleppo, explained that the sterilization and cleaning campaign comes as a precautionary measure to tackle the Corona virus, and the service directorates of the City Council of Aleppo implemented hygiene and sterilization campaigns that included the youth housing area in Maysaloon and Khan al-Zaytun in the Sulayman al-Halabi neighborhood and the youth welfare street in the Sulaymaniyah neighborhood and in the neighborhoods Al-Sukkari, Al-Sakhour, Al-Hamdania and Airport Road.
Engineer Yahya Daou, director of hygiene at the city council, explained that hygiene campaigns included washing streets, migrating garbage, sterilizing containers, spraying sterile materials in service facilities, distributing awareness-raising and targeted publications to encourage citizens to stay in their homes and adhering to health instructions to tackle the Corona virus.
In the town of Al-Kufr in As-Suwayda, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent Division, under the supervision of the municipal council, conducted sterilization operations, including the municipal building, vegetable market, bakery, the Syrian Trade Hall, fuel station and health center.
The branch of the Syrian Foundation for Trade also walked three cars loaded with vegetables to the villages of “Nimrah Shahba, Gheidat Nimrah, Umm Dhabib”, “Al Tayyiba, Umm Rawaq, Tarba” and “Umrah and Shaqqa” for sale to citizens at cost prices.
