In the days of the Corona, the courts show great forgiveness for the detainees. Due to the danger of getting infected, many of the detainees are released to their homes. The police cannot bring anyone into an extension of arrest either, but only with the approval of a deputy officer. However, there are offenders who continue their "work" and hope the court will consider them due to the state of emergency. It turns out it doesn't always work.

A Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court judge recently ordered a detainee to remain in custody on the grounds: "Even in the Corona, there is a limit to all the trickery." The Jaffa police station recently arrested a 31-year-old local delinquent who took advantage of the quiet and closed streets to break into a home for business just after midnight. When he left, in less than half an hour he broke into another business. In the first business he was photographed on security cameras while in the business box and identified by police, and the second business was already caught in a cafe that was closed due to the Ministry of Health's guidelines.

With the approval of a lieutenant officer, the suspect was brought to the Detention Extension Court, where the police representative, Major General Moshe Poistro, claimed that it was a suspect who should be under house arrest at night and that he had a suspended sentence and five indictments, of which four were on felony charges. The suspect's arrest was extended for three days and then brought back to court with another request by the police to extend his detention. In this hearing, Capt. Poistro announced that the police had been able to locate another business where the suspect had burst.

The suspect's attorney claimed his client denied any connection to the three incidents and asked for his release to his home on the grounds that the house arrest violation was only for a few hours. He further added the Corona matter and said his client's risk of getting infected should be taken into account.

Judge Shamai Becker did not accept the request, extending the arrest of the suspect for five days, noting that the pardon that characterizes the Corona days cannot stand to be suspected in this case. "The power of the virus is great for him, but as I wrote at the beginning of the decision, he too has limits, and it seems to me that this case can not enjoy the forgiveness that characterizes the days of the virus, as the suspect violates trust given and repeatedly - and turns out to be one more - to businesses, and reached Time to tell him enough, "the judge wrote in his decision.
