For the past few days, small groups of around twenty Renault employees have been returning to their factories in Flins (Yvelines) and Bettignies (Nord)… No question of going back to work on the assembly lines at a standstill. There is no rush. " These are simply opportunities to see on the spot how masks, gloves, gel, are made available, to overcome a fear that may have settled, " explains Franck Daout, the CFDT central delegate at Renault.
For once, it is the unions who most simply refer to the resumption of activity in automobile factories. Renault is not the only manufacturer to plan a smooth return to the workshops. Toyota also discussed at length with union organizations before deciding to reopen, on a very small scale, its site in Onnaing (North) on Tuesday, April 21. Production will be reduced: the French factory will assemble 1,500 vehicles in one week, which it usually produces every day.
