Social Security announced on Tuesday that on Thursday, April 15, over one million veteran citizens will receive the grant totaling about NIS 1 billion. National Insurance will deposit into the bank accounts of approximately 39,000 eligible disability benefits (the second stage) for a total of NIS 19.5 billion.

The NIS 500 grant will be paid to those who have reached retirement age, women aged 62 and men aged 67, and receive at least one of the following allowances for March or April; Senior citizen's pension, survivor's pension (over retirement age) and dependents' allowance for work casualties. At the same time, an additional NIS 450 grant, in addition to NIS 500, will be paid to senior citizens who receive at least one of the following allowances: income supplement, nursing and special services. These citizens will receive a grant of NIS 950.

It was also emphasized by the National Insurance Institute that two spouses who receive a supplementary income supplement, nursing or special services allowance are entitled to one supplement of NIS 450. In these cases, the grant of NIS 500 will be paid to each spouse, but the date of payment of the supplement for two spouses has not yet been set, although it is likely to be paid in April.

National Insurance Director Meir Spiegeler said on Thursday's expected deposit: "We identify with the hardships Israel's citizens are facing at this time and are working days out to transfer all eligibility as soon as possible. This is a transfer of billions of shekels to millions of citizens and we will not stop addressing the issue until the last of the eligible ones receive their money. "
