The leader of the Turkish Democracy and Progress Party, Ali Babacan, confirmed that the President of the Turkish regime, Recep Erdogan, has made serious mistakes in the internal and external policies, especially in the face of the Corona epidemic, and will pay for it after he has completely lost his credibility with the Turkish street.

Babacan stressed in an interview with the Turkish T24 channel that these mistakes cost and will cost Turkey many health, economic, financial and social problems expecting serious economic and financial crises during the coming period with a large wave of unemployment, stressing that Erdogan cannot and will not be able to face these crises because he lost his credibility inside and outside.

He pointed out that Erdogan is taking advantage of his control over the media, parliament and state agencies to impose his authority without admitting that he has connected the country to a dark tunnel as he worked and works to suppress the voices of the opposition by various authoritarian means and seeks to close the channels, newspapers and websites that oppose him because he does not want anyone to object to his policies.

Babacan took over the Ministry of Economy in the Turkish system between 2002 and 2007 when the Justice and Development Party came to power for the first time, and after that he spent two years as Minister of Foreign Affairs and was appointed Deputy Prime Minister between 2009 and 2015.

Babacan resigned from the Justice and Development Party in July 2019 because of "deep differences" over Erdogan's policies, and last month announced the founding of his new party.
