(CNN Spanish) - The Minister of Government of Ecuador María Paula Romo, assured during the presentation of the daily report on the coronavirus, that from next week a "pilot project" will be opened to reopen the construction sector.
According to Romo, said sector is applying safety protocols so that workers enter in shifts and under strict monitoring of the symptoms they may present.

He added that this decision "does not mean that everyone in the construction sector will be able to resume their activities," but that they will first need prior special approval that will go through the Emergency Operations Committee.
The minister emphasized that this pilot project will serve as an indicator to open new sectors of industry and commerce.
On the other hand, he pointed out that the operation of companies that market office supplies or stationery is authorized, "because there is currently a need for these supplies even within the health sector."
