(CNN Spanish) - Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei said on Friday that "a large part" of a flight of deportees arrived contaminated. The president referred to the flight that arrived in Guatemala on Monday, April 13, where a group of 12 people chosen at random tested positive for covid-19.

On Thursday, Guatemalan government sources told CNN that 44 migrants from the April 13 flight, which arrived from Brownsville, Texas, tested positive for covid-19. Soon after, the Guatemalan authorities indicated that they will be tested again. It was not clear if the 12 confirmed on Friday are part of this group.

To date, Guatemala reports 235 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 7 deaths.
