Jordan's refugee camps are in great danger of the rapid spread of the Corona virus in the face of much overcrowding. In fact, Jordan has about three and a half million refugees in its territory, some from the civil war in Syria and others from descendants of Palestinian refugees. Nevertheless, Jordan is proud of the fact that they have been able to stem the plague. According to official data, so far 413 have been diagnosed with the corona virus and only seven people have died from the virus.

In an interview with CBS News, King Jordan Abdullah boasted: "We acted relatively early and this helped us to stem the spread quite well." He explained that they have imposed closures and restrictions throughout the state, and are currently in the process of gradually exiting the closure. Abdullah claimed that they treat everyone in the Jordanian borders in the same way and that most of the refugee population is not in the camps. "Access to testing has enabled us to understand what the challenges are," the Jordanian king said, adding that many tests are being conducted in the country and in densely populated places. In connection with this, Abdullah mentioned that in the past week there were only about ten infected daily.

Beyond that, Abdullah also referred to mutual aid between Jordan and other states: "Many individuals and countries have helped us and we have helped them," he said, noting that "yesterday's enemies or those who were not friendly, whether we like it or not, are our partners today. We understand this quickly as leaders, so we can solve it quickly.

"If yes, Mother Earth gave us a kick back," King Abdullah confessed, "and we are smart enough to understand that we must act properly and whether we are now serving humanity to ensure that everyone is successful in the crisis. We must do it because we are all in the same boat."

Last week, Jordanian Prime Minister Omar al-Razaz said the state's priorities for spending had changed and focused on benefits for the massively affected masses from the closure policy. While economic activity has been reduced, Reuters reports that officials said the crisis hit the $ 14 billion budget this year, including the prospect of an ambitious program to encourage investment and home consumption.

They say discussions are underway with the IMF to adjust the reform plan for the next four years, which was approved for $ 1.3 billion before the crisis, and to allow additional funding for welfare for those in need.

As part of this, the Jordanian prime minister announced a plan to pay millions of dollars to those who lost his job. Also, the government has already said it will provide assistance to 200,000 needy families among the state's ten million residents.
