Ottawa (dpa) - More than ten people have been killed in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia according to police reports. A police officer is among the victims, as the investigators said in a press conference.
The investigation was at an early stage, said official Chris Leather. The alleged perpetrator, a 51-year-old man, was found by the police. He was killed in the process.
An hour-long chase had previously taken place. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police had already received reports of an armed attacker on Sunday night. Residents were asked to stay in their homes and lock their doors.
