The Chinese National Health Commission announced today that no deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours on the Chinese mainland for the second consecutive day.

Xinhua quoted the committee as saying that it received reports of 16 new confirmed cases of the virus on the Chinese mainland yesterday, including nine cases, six cases in Heilongjiang Province and one case in Guangdong Province.

The committee added that the total confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland had reached 82,735 as of Saturday, 77062 people had been discharged from hospitals after recovering, while 4,632 people had died of the disease.

In turn, South Korea announced that eight cases of the virus were recorded, including five cases received from abroad, while the number of deaths rose to 234.

In Germany, data for the Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases showed a rise in confirmed cases of the virus in Germany, 2458 cases to a total of 139,897, representing less than the cases announced yesterday.

The data showed an increase in the number of deaths by 184 cases to 4294, a decline in numbers from 243 cases announced on Saturday and 299 cases on Friday.

In addition, the Pakistani Ministry of Health announced the registration of seven new deaths, bringing the total number to 148, along with 442 new infections, taking the total number to 7918.

The Afghan Ministry of Health announced the registration of 60 new infections, bringing the total number to 993.

In South America, the Brazilian Ministry of Health said that the number of new cases of coronavirus in the country increased by 2917 to 36 thousand and 599 cases, while the number of deaths increased by 206 to 2347.

In Mexico, more than 100 deaths were announced during the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths in the country with the Corona virus to 650, while 622 new cases were confirmed, bringing the total number of people infected in the country to nearly 7,500.

South Africa also announced that it recorded 251 new cases of infection, the highest increase in 24 hours since the first case appeared in the country last March, bringing the total number of injured to 3034.

On the other hand, the director of the eurozone rescue fund said that Europe will need at least another 500 billion euros from European Union institutions to finance its economic recovery after the Corona virus pandemic, in addition to an agreed package of half a trillion euros.

The easiest way to organize such funds would be through the European Commission and the European Union budget, said Claus Wrigling, director of the European Stability Mechanism Fund, in an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera published today.
