Rio de Janeiro - Brazilian writer Rubem Fonseca died in Rio de Janeiro at the age of 94 . The award-winning writer succumbed to the consequences of a heart attack on Wednesday, according to the daily newspaper O Globo , citing family members of Fonsecas. Fonseca is one of the best-known authors in Latin America and particularly attracted attention with literary crime novels. On May 11, the Brazilian would have been 95 years old.

Before working as a writer, he worked as a lecturer, administrative officer and police commissioner for a while .
