With the impulse of the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Massa, next Tuesday the Crime Victims Observatory will make a presentation before the Buenosairean Council of the Magistracy asking for the political judgment of three judges who released prisoners by the coronavirus. It is for not complying with the law that compels magistrates to inform and listen to victims before releasing a detainee.

The Observatory, which is chaired by Sandra Rossi, has already accumulated evidence on magistrates who belong to three judicial departments: San Isidro, Bahía Blanca and Lomas de Zamora. Their names have not yet emerged. In addition to the trial, they will request their preventive suspension.

The decision to go against the judges began to take shape after the massive cacerolazo that occurred on Thursday in different parts of the country. Massa issued a resolution in which he instructed the Crime Victims Observatory, which reports to Congress, so that in the event that the judges fail to comply with the sight of the victim, they will initiate impeachment. "We are seeing that in some places some judges are acting irresponsibly," Massa had emphasized days ago.

Based on the victims' comments, the agency began to collect information on those released with house arrest and to detect in which courts they had taken place. In most cases, the rule that informing victims when a release occurs or was incompletely reported had not been complied with. In addition, the law requires that the Justice listen to the position of the victim before releasing the offender.

The Buenos Aires Minister of Justice, Marcela Losardo, had pointed out with respect to the release of the prisoners that it was "unfair for them to take over the Executive Branch from things that it has nothing to do with" and had assured that "those who took those measures, each is responsible for their actions, and for that there is the division of powers. "

President Alberto Fernández had denied on Wednesday that his administration was preparing a "massive release" of prisoners due to the coronavirus pandemic and assured that "the solution to this problem is in the hands of the courts . "
