The World Health Organization confirmed that the United States has not provided any evidence to support its speculation that the source of the emerging corona virus is a laboratory in Wuhan, China.

"We have not received any specific information or evidence from the United States government related to the alleged source of the virus, so it is still, in our view, just speculation," said WHO Director of Emergency Michael Ryan during an online news conference from its headquarters in Geneva, according to AFP. The organization is based exclusively on the scientific data available to it.

"Like every evidence-based organization, we would really like to receive any information about the source of the virus ... If these data and evidence are available, it is up to the US government to decide whether it can share it and when it can, but it is difficult for the WHO to make an opinion in the absence of Information supports these accusations, pointing out that the evidence available to the organization based on the dismantling of the genetic map of the virus says that "the virus is of natural origin".

Last week, the New York Times revealed that senior Trump administration officials had pressed intelligence agencies to find evidence to support allegations that the Corona virus came from a Chinese laboratory, with the aim of diverting attention from criticism of this administration about its handling of the crisis caused by the epidemic.
