Truck drivers demonstrating near the White House disrupted a speech by Donald Trump on Friday.
"It's a signal of love," commented the president about the "wonderful noise" of these horns. "They are demonstrating for President Trump and not against it," said Trump, who was speaking in the gardens of the presidential residence, the seat of the US executive.

Dozens of American truckers have been parked for several days in the heart of Washington to demand a revaluation of the kilometric rate of freight transport, jeopardized according to them by wholesale brokers. This while delivery companies are currently playing a crucial role in supplying Americans confined to a coronavirus pandemic.
Some drivers, called "truckers" in the United States, had deployed banners on Friday calling on Donald Trump to act in their favor. "Make Trucking Great Again" , displayed one of the banners, in reference to the slogan of the republican billionaire "Make America Great Again" . "Don't let the brokers kill the highway sector," said another sign on one of the trucks parked along the large plaza south of the White House.
