(CNN Spanish) - In Honduras, passengers transport service workers crossed dozens of buses on the highway that leads from Tegucigalpa to the southern part of the country, demanding that the government allow them to return to work. The blockade lasted more than two hours and was peaceful.

The sector has been detained for more than 50 days, after the government decreed an absolute curfew at the national level due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Transportation workers claim that their wages are from day-to-day work and that, not being in operation, they have no income to support their families daily.

They claim that the government gave them a food ration for seven days on April 20, so they have to return to work to buy food for their children.

The government, through the authorities of the National Transport Institute, promised to find the mechanism for a smart opening in the passenger transport sector.

In addition, it committed to the carriers to carry out a second delivery of food so that they can take their livelihood to their homes, pending the authorization of the circulation of the buses in the Honduran capital and in other areas of the Central American country.
