It comes at a hefty price: $ 3,499 for a 55-inch one, $ 4,999 for a 65-inch one, and $ 6,499 for a 75-inch one, but you're paying for a Samsung QLED screen that can show good colors and brightness outdoors, which isn't easy. . Being outside means being out in the sun more often, which is a problem for screens. With The Terrace, Samsung has increased the brightness to 2,000 nits, making the image brighter and less glare.
What about water or dust? The Terrace is IP55 certified. That means it is not completely sealed, but it is protected against dust and water. It can survive the rain and is protected against water jets from any direction (in case the garden sprinklers carelessly wet it).
The three HDMI, ethernet, USB type A and tuner ports are housed in a bay that is protected from the elements by a door that is also IP55 rated.
The Terrace has the specs of a Samsung QLED 2020 and has a full 4K UHD panel with 2,160p resolution. To reduce the soap opera effect and any frame drop, The Terrace has a refresh rate of 120Hz.
Since most of the content on live TV and many streaming services still reaches 1080pHD, the Quantum 4K processor can optimize content in real time. This means that it increases resolution, reduces noise, improves colors and ensures that the image remains sharp.
Plus, The Terrace runs Samsung's smart interface, so you'll have access to Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV +, Amazon Prime Video, Quibi, and other services. It also has Apple Music and various fitness programs that live under the umbrella of the Samsung Health brand.
This TV comes with Samsung's IP65-rated One remote control, so it can withstand the outdoors even better than the TV. The Terrace also features 20-watt dual-channel speakers.
The 65 and 75-inch models are already available at $ 4,999 and $ 6,499, respectively. The 55-inch screen will launch in late June for $ 3,499.
Samsung has also launched The Terrace Soundbar, which, as you can imagine, is a sound bar designed for outdoors, with resistance to dust and water. It connects to The Terrace TV, is enabled for Alexa and is compatible with Bluetooth.
It has multiple speakers, including a center speaker, a powerful tweeter, and a 210-watt woofer. Since the sound is not contained in a room or space, built-in distortion cancellation is important to sound as clear as possible.
Samsung's The Terrace soundbar will go on sale in late May for $ 1,199 .
