In a meeting between representatives of the disabled organizations and Finance Minister Katz, the parties concluded that the outline for raising disability pensions will be submitted for approval by the government within the upcoming budget.

Finance Minister Israel Katz met with representatives of the disability organizations on Tuesday, and agreed with them on a plan to raise disability benefits to be approved by the government within the near budget. According to that outline, the general disability allowance will rise to NIS 3,700.

Today, the full monthly disability pension on 100% disability is NIS 3,321. In a meeting with the Minister of Finance, representatives of the disability organizations raised their demands, including raising the disability pension. The Minister of Finance instructed to follow the outline for raising disability pensions as provided by the law for 2020-2021. Once the budget is finally approved, the disability allowance will rise by almost NIS 400.

In recent years, the disability organizations have been protesting for the disability allowance in the garden. The organizations require that the amount of the disability pension be increased and be the same as the minimum wage. Therefore, they are likely to continue the fight in order to win another raise. However, it is still an important and significant step for those with disabilities in Israel.

In addition, Minister Katz instructed the Budget Department in his office to formulate the main implications of raising the disregard (garden income is taken into account in calculating the disability allowance).

Finance Minister Katz said: "I met with representatives of the disabled organization today. I have been listening attentively to their distresses. I intend to bring the budget outlined to increase allowances and work with all the power to encourage employment among people with disabilities."
