The Syrian Grain Branch of Daraa begins marketing the wheat crop

The Syrian Grain Branch in Daraa has started receiving wheat from farmers for the current agricultural season through its centers in Izra and Sanamen.

The branch manager Eng. Essam Al-Sayasneh stated with a statement to SANA correspondent today that the branch has taken all necessary measures to speed up the receipt by equipping laboratories, domes, warehouses and everything related to work, indicating that the branch has allocated the Izra Center for Dokmah wheat and the Sanmen Center for the packed bag.

He added that the price of grains would be delivered through the branches of the cooperative agricultural banks without delay, stressing that the Cabinet’s decision to raise the price of wheat receipt for the current season from 225 to 400 pounds was a great relief for farmers and constituted an incentive to continue agricultural work and increase the produced quantities.

For his part, the head of the farmers union in Daraa, Mithqal Al-Qasim, indicated that the decision to raise the price of wheat to 400 Syrian pounds per kilo left a good impression on farmers and contributed to preventing any sale of the crop outside government centers, stressing that the relevant authorities provided all the requirements for harvest, especially with regard to hydrocarbons, and were allocated liters Oil for harvesting one dunum of rainfed wheat and three liters for irrigation.
