The repeal law that was repealed yesterday is part of a series of laws passed by the right in recent years, one of which is to solve political or security problems through legal tools, usually problems created by the High Court's involvement.

The regulation law, the nationality law, the referendum law on the delivery of homeland ropes, the terrorist liberation law, and this is only a partial list - are the right's attempts to shape policy through laws. Don't we like releasing terrorists? We will limit the revenue and subsequent governments in the law. Don't want to hand over homeland? It was determined that this was a privileged majority. And the head of all that genre is the law of nationality: does the court examine everything from a prism of progressive fundamental laws? Then we will introduce a national basic law, which will require him to consider other factors. This wave of right-wing activity has created a new stage in Zionism - legal Zionism. It is as if legal means can solve political and political problems.

It is alleged that a group of judges who have been promoted may have to change their minds about human rights and the image of the state because someone wrote something in some law.

The regulation law is intended for a similar purpose. The problem it aims to solve is basically legal: localities uprooted and houses demolished due to leftist petitions by the High Court. The solution? A law that regulates the status of unregulated Jewish communities. Some misunderstandings, some of the lawmakers' claims are certainly true, but the thought that through legislation can cause For a change in the outcome of the meat grinder in the High Court, it is innocent and unfounded.

High Court judges are familiar with the contrary considerations, within which they sit. To say otherwise is that they have gone missing or that some magical argument has not been presented to them. They have ruled otherwise because they think otherwise. Even if there is an explicit fundamental law in flickering neon letters that cover all Ayalon that says "High Court, do not disregard national laws", it is Will affect them less than a plastic bag affects the ocean.

The thing is simple: the High Court has not interpreted the laws or implemented the law in a long time. It has become 100 percent political. It does not count the Knesset, and refers to government decisions as mere recommendations. The fact that there was a debate about a month ago in the election results says it all.

In such a state of affairs, all this right-wing legislative mask achieves the opposite effect: it strengthens the High Court, gives it additional powers and gives it ratification by the political right to become the final arbiter of national questions.

And get a spoiler to kick your head: The High Court will soon discuss the national law, and it's not going to be impressed by its drafters' Zionist rhetoric.
