China on Sunday (June 14th) recorded a rebound in new Covid-19 cases, reinforcing fears of a resurgence of the pandemic in the country where it started last year.

According to Chinese authorities, 57 new confirmed cases of coronavirus contamination were identified in 24 hours, including 36 in Beijing, the highest daily figure since April. This is worrying news for the rest of the world who fear a second wave of the epidemic, which continues to rage in Latin America.
Thanks to strict controls, the wearing of a mask and containment operations, the epidemic was under control in China, where the new coronavirus appeared last year in Wuhan (center).
But a new source of contamination has been detected in southern Beijing at the Xinfadi wholesale market, which sells meat, fish and vegetables, among other things. A discovery that resulted in the confinement of 11 residential areas in the vicinity.
Hundreds of police and paramilitary police, many of them wearing protective masks and gloves, were seen on Saturday by AFP journalists near the Xinfadi market.
With a total of 42,720 deaths recorded on Saturday evening, Brazil is the second country most grieving by the Covid-19, behind the United States (115,347 dead for more than two million cases).
In total, the Covid-19 has killed more than 427,000 people and infected more than 7.7 million people on the planet, according to a report compiled by AFP from official sources.
