President Alberto Fernández reiterated this Friday that the situation due to the coronavirus, particularly in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires and in the province of Chaco, remains serious, which is why, he assured, restrictions must be maintained beyond difficulties. economic.

"We have different realities. There are provinces where the situation is controlled; provinces that believed that they had the thing controlled and got out of control; and the AMBA and Resistencia, which is where the two most intense focuses are. There we have to be very firm and very hard and make Argentines understand that moving is a huge risk. To solve the problems of the economy we will have time, "he said.

During an interview with Radio Nacional, the president affirmed that "the State is going to help everyone", but said that "those who leave us cannot be helped."

"I do not want to count the dead, I want to count lives. And I hope that Argentina, and especially the people of Buenos Aires and the people of Greater Buenos Aires, understand the need to reorder things a little. The growth in the use of hospital beds in recent years days has been very important . All the effort we made was so that no one is left without hospital care. It is not going to be that because we all relax, it is not going to be for that reason that all the effort becomes useless, "he said.

Beyond that, Fernández made evident the fragile economic situation that the country is experiencing by ensuring that the State assists almost the entire economically active population of the country, if you add the 9 million that receive the Emergency Family Income (IFE) and the almost 2 million benefited from the Emergency Assistance Program for Work and Production (ATP).

"Argentina continues to have the same deficiencies as on December 10, and some became much more complicated as a result of the pandemic. We arrived with a plan to fight hunger and we had to multiply that effort. There is a covered, silent, covert Argentina. .. the best sample is the IFE, that when we took it out we thought it would reach 2 million people and actually there were 9 ", he said.

Among other things, the president assured that he hopes to send "in the next few days the project for the reform of Justice in all its jurisdictions", and confirmed that, due to the pandemic, he postponed the initiative to legalize abortion, although he stated that it continues to be priority.

"I have not abdicated in sending the abortion law, in any way. We have simply postponed the shipment due to the urgency that we have today, but it is something pending to resolve in Argentina," he said.
