  • Castle of La Roche-Guyon

Just over an hour from Paris (70km), the village of La Roche-Guyon has no shortage of attractions, the only one in Île-de-France to be part of the Association "Les Plus Beaux Villages de France" . Its location, clinging to the cliff and overlooking the meanders of the Seine, its millenary castle make it an unmissable place to visit (without forgetting that it was immortalized in an adventure by Blake and Mortimer The Diabolical Trap , signed Edgar P. Jacobs in 1962). The latter, with multiple changes, has kept elements of each century, from the 9th century keep to the occupation by Rommel in 1944, passing by the troglodytes dug in the facade, the influence of the Renaissance, the profound upheavals of La Rochefoucault in Eighteenth century. The vegetable garden, labeled remarkable gardenis the largest vegetable garden in Île-de-France after the King's vegetable garden in Versailles. After strolling in the 3.8 ha, do not miss the exhibition Plant adventures, from carefree to framed freedom. It continues in the Cabinet of Curiosities with the elegant presentation of Pascal Levaillant, plastic artist, of nearly 350 botanical pieces. When you leave, take the opportunity to buy market garden products at the store!

The arboretum of Versailles - Chèvreloup

Notice to dreamers in search of calm in the shade of centuries-old oaks, to sportsmen looking for a 10-kilometer hiking route and to nature lovers quite simply. The Versailles-Chèvreloup Arboretum has indeed reopened since early June. In this area managed by the National Museum of Natural History and labeled "remarkable garden", nearly 10,000 trees constitute the richest collection of trees in Europe on 200 hectares. So here, needless to say that distancing is easy to respect! Take a stroll, on foot or by bike, through the 2,500 species that coexist in this true botanical garden, where the trees are classified by continent and then by region. Without forgetting a so-called horticultural area in the center of the area which brings together varieties of trees created by humans. The arboretum is a magical place of nature where places with sweet and bucolic names (pond of Herons, hillock of Oaks, alley of Blue Cedars, clearing of Conifers) invite to the fullness in the open air. So go, admire and above all ... breathe!

Arboretum of Versailles-Chevreloup . 30, route de Versailles, Rocquencourt (78). Daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Price from 5 to 7 euros. Family pass (2 adults + 2 children): 20 euros. Phone. : 01 39 55 53 80.

  • Field of Champs sur Marne

25 km east of Paris in Seine-et-Marne, the Champs-sur-Marne castle is sure to dazzle its visitors. On Saturday, June 20, discover the feeder park through a cultural visit “from garden to plate” (2 p.m.), where history reveals a place teeming with natural resources and sheltering a rich natural ecosystem that once allowed the estate , to provide for their own food needs thanks to their vegetable patch, their farm and their greenhouses.

For those who prefer to play image reporters and learn while having fun, nothing like the photo rally (3:30 p.m.): a guided route to be completed as a team (with family or friends) at the end of which a facilitator from the château will answer your questions and choose the winners. Finally on Sunday, a fun visit (3.30pm) will tell those curious about nature and gardens about the 300 years of history of the park which has evolved according to fashions and eras. The entrance price to the castle includes all these events.
