One more thing for the member. Two candidates for the municipal elections of Paris, Aurélien Véron (head of list LR Paris Center) and Valérie Montandon (head of list LR of the XIIth district), announce Monday evening to have seized justice after revelations about the deputy LREM Laetitia Avia, also a candidate in the capital. According to Mediapart, the elected official, who is on the list of Sandrine Mazetier in the XIIth district, used parliamentary resources within the framework of her municipal campaign, which is prohibited.

The two candidates on the list of Rachida Dati claim, in a press release, having seized the prosecution as well as the National Financial Prosecutor's Office (PNF). They also wish to file an appeal in order to request “the cancellation of the two rounds of electoral operations” in the arrondissements of Paris-Center and in the XIIth arrondissement. "It will be specified that Mr. Pacôme Rupin, head of the LREM list in Paris Center, shares the parliamentary permanence of Ms. Laetitia Avia", continues the press release.

Aurélien Véron and Valérie Montandon also request "the rejection of their campaign accounts", as well as a "declaration of ineligibility for serious violation of electoral rules" for Laetitia Avia and Pacôme Rupin.

Charges denied by Laetitia Avia

"The National Commission for Campaign Accounts and Political Financing will also be seized of the serious irregularities noted in the financing of this electoral campaign from the LREM list in these two districts", assure the candidates.

According to the Mediapart investigation, at least two parliamentary assistants from Laetitia Avia have worked on its municipal campaign, something which is however prohibited by the Electoral Code. The parliamentary permanence of the deputy, shared with Pacôme Rupin, would also have been used for meetings on the organization of their campaigns. Statements denied as a whole by the person concerned, through her lawyer.

This is not the first case that affects Laetitia Avia. Last May, five of her former collaborators announced that they wanted to file a complaint against her for “moral harassment”, testifying to “repeated” humiliation and denouncing sexist, racist and homophobic remarks. Charges also denied by Laetitia Avia, who then declared that he wanted to file a defamation complaint.
