The ugly outburst of Knesset Member Ofer Shelach in front of his Knesset interviewers is a top news issue. Members of Knesset are representatives of the public, and in so doing, the public should know how they behave towards each other, and in particular how they behave when other people ask them difficult questions outside their comfort zone. Potential voters of blue and white may have avoided giving their votes to a rising politician who might have been on the agenda. We will never know, because the interview, how convenient, was shelved.

The disturbing part of the story is Shelah's ability to exert power - or fear - in front of Knesset channel managers. When the unrestrained Idna Dritchha in front of his interviewers (subdued, it should be noted) leaked out - 11 employees from the media body were sent for a polygraph examination and two facts were suspended.

In the Israeli climate, where serious leaks about the most sensitive investigation ever open up issues as a matter of routine - when everyone understands that these are leaks from the most senior positions in the law enforcement system - the harsh treatment of Knesset channel workers seems puzzling, to say the least: where does this power go from within the channel? , And another channel whose job is to ensure complete and unmediated transparency between elected officials and the public they are supposed to serve?

And, in general, where is journalistic solidarity, and why do the Baronz Amazons not shiver in the face of peer-and-peer-driven horror and silencing practices? When Netanyahu came out against Raviv Drucker's trendy leaks about his investigation, the emergency campaign to save journalistic freedom could not be escaped. Is the blood of Knesset channel workers less flushed, or is the sending of dirt more protected by the prime minister?

The answer to both questions is yes. A central wing in the journalism branch in Israel is engrossed in symbiosis with "right-wing" politicians. The result is sympathetic coverage and unflattering information to politicians who are, in the end, "one of ours." The trend of a leftist journalist into politics - and from there back to the media - is further crowding the connections in this closed social network that its members keep on each other on both sides.

About two weeks ago, Ben Caspit preached to the Prime Minister about the use of the famous image of a sentry, a torch and a drucker in a nightly meeting about beers and cigars. The photo was taken shortly after Shalah's wife passed away, when friends sought to encourage him. Utilizing political needs, he argued, is a moral slump. The context in which the picture was taken is tragic, but mercury does corroborate the claim which he tried to disprove: it is an illustration, a glimpse, of the intimate, social, personal relationship within a cohesive force whose people rule over overlapping areas of the media and politics.

And this group, which paradoxically accuses others of "trumpets" and "yard-spokes," has moves that Shelah's interrogation case illustrates fascinating: concealment, genius, silence, assumptions for club members, and the disregard for disgraceful treatment of journalists. Who needs "boosters" when you have guys?
