Delphine Levy, director general of Paris Musées, died suddenly on Monday July 13 at the age of 51, announced the mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo and her culture assistant Christophe Girard in a press release. Both of them pay homage to the woman of culture and dialogue that she was, endowed with an extraordinary determination . The mayor of Paris and his deputy - who is also president of Paris Musées - expressed their emotion on Twitter.
A former student of the National School of Administration, Delphine Levy worked alongside Martine Aubry, then Minister of Labor. She then joined the town hall of Paris, where she became deputy director of Bertrand Delanoë's cabinet, in charge of culture, housing and social issues.

In 2013, this art history enthusiast designed and took over the management of the Paris Musées public institution. This organization brings together the 14 museums owned by the City of Paris and manages their buildings and collections. A “brilliant professional”
Bruno Julliard, the former first deputy to the mayor of Paris, and his successor Emmanuel Grégoire have in turn hailed the memory of a " friend " and a " brilliant professional ".
Rachida Dati, the mayor of the 7th arrondissement of Paris, meanwhile praised the idea that Delphine Levy had of culture, between " qualitative requirement " and " openness to the greatest number ".
