State Comptroller Matanyahu Engelman examines the conduct of law enforcement officials vis-à-vis Ethiopians. The audit has long since begun and is included in the annual work plan, with the background for the audit being the auditor's initiative out of importance of incorporating more audits in social aspects.
A number of bodies are examined in this context - the Israel Police, the Ministry of Internal Security; Prime Minister's Office - New Road Plan; The Government Unit for the Coordination of the Fight against Racism in the Ministry of Justice; The Special Functions Unit of the State Attorney's Office; Pardons Department at the Ministry of Justice; Department of Police Investigations in the State Attorney's Office (DIP); Public Defender's Office; IDF.

In doing so, a number of issues are examined, such as: the treatment of law enforcement officials in Ethiopian youth, the police's actions in front of the community, budget mapping and more. As part of the audit work, a public participation procedure will soon begin.
In the second half of 2019, the wave of protests by Ethiopians resumed and the issue of police violence against the community returned to public discourse following two deaths of young Ethiopians by the police: Yehuda Biadga - in January 2019, and Salomon Teka - in June 2019.
