The infection control team of the Eastern District Hospital immediately conducted a contact follow-up investigation on the incident and confirmed that the patient had been wearing a surgical mask as instructed when he was hospitalized, and no high-risk procedures were performed in the ward during the period; and he had provided treatment and care to the patient All medical staff of the Hospital Authority wear suitable personal protective equipment according to the guidelines of the Hospital Authority. At this stage, no employees have been classified as close contacts. They will conduct medical surveillance as recommended by the Center for Health Protection.
As for the 10 patients in the same ward with the patient, the Eastern District Hospital has notified the Health Protection Center and followed up communication, and will make appropriate isolation and quarantine arrangements.
