For centuries, human beings have fought for their freedom and liberation from the shackles of authoritarian regimes. With the disintegration of the Soviet Union, and the transition to what was perceived as an American monopoly world, some believed, like Francis Fukuyama and Joseph Nye, that American-Western-liberal democracy had completed the ideological craft and would soon sweep humanity into an optimistic future. In the 21st century, a significant portion of the world's population lives, in terms of per capita GDP, at the highest standard of living ever. Along with the increase in wealth, technology is advancing and leaving its mark on all lifestyles. Science and medicine are flourishing and enabling the extension of life expectancy. Education and higher education are available to the general public, and are not the exclusive domain of a minority. But despite the progress, which is also felt in developing areas, Western society felt it had lost its way, and reached a crossroads.

This feeling is contributed by sharp ideological-cultural and socio-economic disputes, which are raging in the United States between the Democratic Party and the Republican Party, between liberals and conservatives, over America's nasal soul. The killing of George Floyd and the ensuing wave of protests

is no longer a cultural controversy. The divisions between "liberal" America and "conservative" America should be seen as "occupied civil war," meaning an uncompromising ideological struggle for hegemony in American society. Without the use of force. These intense internal processes not only shake American society, but to a large extent also undermine the value capacity of the United States to lead the Western world in the spirit of liberal democracy.

For the last hundred years the world's great power has played a crucial role in navigating the human ship to better provinces. The leader of the free world, despite its flaws, confronted fascist-dictatorial regimes, mobilized its resources to fight them, promoted democratization of states, and instilled in the world modern economic capitalism, as well as American culture and values. Today, the United States is still the largest economic-military power in the world.

Russia and China are working to challenge the pro-Western world created after World War II. Disappointingly, despite the adoption of capitalist principles, they have intensified their mechanism of brutal repression, creating international-territorial crises around the world, while promoting unfair and transparent international economic policies that undermine trust with their partners around the world. At the same time as suppressing individual liberties, the Russian bear and the Chinese dragon are striving to create an alternative economic order.

Similar to the fabric of forces that began to change in the late 19th century, then the status of the British Empire, the pioneer of the free economy, gradually weakened in favor of the rising forces - Germany, Japan and the US - so Russia and China weakened the West American capitalist system and the dollar. these are manifested, for example, promoting a "new silk Road" of China, whose goal is to expand the global influence of China, to increase its power in the third world, and to challenge American dominance.

But this is not the first time that power has been increasing challenging the status of power Others will argue that, despite the regime's shortcomings in China, its governmental-economic alternative may have advantages over the Western option, but this trend should turn on warning lights in the West, as in the not-too-distant future it will have to face a real dilemma about its values and way of life. The social storm that is raging in the United States threatens to damage its status and jeopardizes its ability to stand on the values that have led it and the West so far. Regardless of the results of the presidential election, American and Western interests are one and the same. As the United States becomes embroiled in controversy and internal tensions over the moral validity of its founding values, the Western world's ability to withstand the onslaught, and to uphold the values of freedom and liberty sown in World War II, will be undermined.
