Two words that have fascinated Israeli politicians, public servants, journalists and academics in recent years: "Diaspora Jewry." With veiled eyes, worried figures will appear at conferences, articles, debates in the Knesset and in the government office set up especially for our brothers overseas, lamenting the fragile soul of the Jew living in the Diaspora. They will detail how important it is to caress him, understand his plight and prevent his assimilation. These are goals worthy of at least most opinions, the problem starts when the demand for budgeting them also arises.

In the last two weeks alone, the Knesset's Diaspora, Aliyah and Absorption Committee decided to invest NIS 20 million in Jewish communities abroad, and the government adopted a rather vague outline "for securing the future of the Jewish people in the Diaspora." The mission of our generation. "This activity, which funds foreign citizens from Israeli tax money, is joined by advertising campaigns, sending opinion leaders on trips to get to know the Diaspora, and producing television broadcasts in ridiculous amounts and with strictly Israeli money.

A new entrant to the Diaspora craze of official Israel is the new MK Tehla Friedman. In a speech in the Knesset this week, Friedman described how "one has to sell a kidney" to attend a Jewish school in the United States, and the aid of the State of Israel may reduce the assimilation caused by it. In a Twitter tweet, Friedman added that official Israel should share non-Israeli passports in decisions Israeli voters: "Israel makes decisions that directly affect the Jews of the world. It should be consulted, "she wrote." The next step "method, Friedman will include not only the delivery of funds from the state treasury for those who choose not to live there, but also consulting political decisions of voters from other nation. It is doubtful whether there is a sovereign state in the world would agree to such an arrangement.

The situation Of our brothers in the Diaspora, and there is no dispute about that, is not one of the improved, especially after the Corona. There is no dispute about the need to help and maintain contact and dialogue with every Jew. Apart from a government office, the Jewish Agency and the World Zionist Organization work alongside many other bodies. Diaspora Jews are brothers, not citizens. they do not carry the burden of taxes, military service and the other hardships of the Jews in the Middle East. We welcome them under the stretcher Israel back, but it is absurd to expect that the people of Israel would carry them on a stretcher.

all old and known to every Jew, regardless Its location in the world states, "The poor of your city are former." Even if you are not a fan of Talmud, you can agree that "the citizens of your country are first." The door of the State of Israel and the Jewish-Israeli heart are open to every Jew, the pocket should remain closed.
