Despite military attacks and the decision to reduce the fishing space and stop the import of fuel into the Gaza Strip, balloon terrorism continued on the Gaza border, although the number of fires in the south decreased yesterday. A total of dozens of explosive and incendiary balloons were launched today, leading to 29 fire incidents in the JNF forests - Kissufim Forest, Bari Forest and Shokeda Forest.

Firefighters, along with KKL-JNF and RTG teams assisted by IDF drones, Rabshakehs and volunteers, acted quickly to put out the fires, one after the other, while the hot weather made the work difficult and accelerated the outbreak of fires in thorny fields, for example in the area Ashkelon Beach, Eshkol and Sderot Regional Council. Most of the fires were local, not life-threatening or property-borne.
The fire and rescue service said that "the cooperation between all the forces, and the very fact that forces were scattered in the area, prevented the fires from spreading and thus it was possible to reach rapid control."
The responsibility for Hamas
Last night, IDF fighter jets, helicopters and tanks attacked several Hamas terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip. During the attack, a Hamas naval compound, underground infrastructure and observation posts of the organization were damaged.
• Serious malfunction during the attack in the Gaza Strip: A missile fired from a helicopter landed in the Gaza Strip
• A laser system for intercepting incendiary balloons was installed in the Gaza Strip
• The method of extortion: Hamas fires, Israel works and the Qataris pay
The IDF blames Hamas, which wants to promote humanitarian relief for the Gaza Strip, as part of its agreements with Israel.
The commander of the Gaza Division, Brigadier General Nimrod Aloni, yesterday held a parade in readiness for the effort to put out the fires in the division's forces, as part of which he assessed the situation with the forces deployed in the enveloping area. The new division commander noted that he was impressed by the lessons learned over the past two years, and ordered a maximum expansion of the force deployment without compromising the ongoing security effort.
