Director Hikmat Akkad chose the text of the English writer Peter Schafer "Black Comedy" to be presented on the stage of Aleppo National Theater next week as part of an effort to present a work of art that would delight the audience under the current circumstances.
Akkad considers that comedy is the real outlet for any suppression that a person experiences, hoping that he can draw a smile on those faces that need joy, especially with the conditions in which we live in our country.
Akkad stated that a black comedy show depends on the position comedy that requires double effort by directing, acting and drawing the movement depending on high accuracy and focus and needs a lot of time, noting that the show “also works on the very dangerous“ Faris ”comedy without drifting towards slapstick and humor.
For the actors in a black comedy, Akkad relied on three different age levels that make the show palatable by the recipient, pointing out that he selected for this show a group of the best actors in Aleppo, and he is currently seeking through social media to introduce them as a preemptive step to prepare the audience for this theatrical dose that he hopes to be Mission with the help of a group of creative technicians at the level of decoration, scenography, lighting, accessories and more
It is noteworthy that director Akkad participated as a child in the Al-Talaa 'festivals, where he won the Best Actor Award at the Aleppo Festival and began in 1997 the directorial work in the Shabibi theater, where he won the best director award, for his work later on for adults and children. He also directed the play “Aleppo Stones” in the Syrian Icon Project and his works reached He directed 22 theatrical performances, the last of which was the monodrama “Thor” within the Monodrama Festival in Aleppo.
