France announced today the imposition of new restrictions to limit gatherings due to the spread of the new Corona virus, after the high rate of infections in the past days.
Sputnik news agency quoted French Health Minister Olivier Ferrand as saying in a statement, “The health situation in the country is heading for further deterioration. Hospitals in Paris and its suburbs have received more than 1,000 people infected with Coronavirus during the last seven days,” warning that the situation may reach a very dangerous level in some Regions due to the rapid spread of the virus.
Ferran announced the closure of all sports halls and celebration halls in cities experiencing a great spread of the virus, preventing all gatherings of more than ten people, starting last Monday, and closing all restaurants and bars in the city of Marseille and its suburbs and in the island of Guadeloupe completely, starting from Saturday.
Yesterday, the French Ministry of Health announced the registration of 5,298 new confirmed cases of the Coronavirus.
