The debate has started
Vice President Mike Pence and California Senator Kamala Harris' only vice presidential debate has begun.
It will run for 90 minutes without commercial breaks.
Harris made history by taking the stage: she is the first black and South Asian woman to participate in a general election debate.
Tonight's debate comes as the Trump administration is reeling from a COVID-19 outbreak at the White House and erratic decisions by the commander-in-chief.

This presidential election is already very different from 2016
CNN's John King highlighted data to explain how the next presidential election "is not 2016," when President Trump defeated Hillary Clinton.
Let's take a look at the polls.
One thing to keep in mind, yes, Hillary Clinton was leading eight points nationally last season.
He won by one or two if you look at the national polls.
He lost in the electoral college, he won the nationwide vote, "King said.
“Joe Biden has risen by a greater margin, nationally.
It has increased 11 points by our survey average.
A slightly bigger Biden lead.
You'll see that this race is simply not 2016. Joe Biden does as well or better than Hillary Clinton among all Trump Democratic groups with 32% nationally among women.
Joe Biden is more than 30 points ahead of that. "
