Hurricane Delta made landfall this Friday afternoon off the coast of Louisiana with Category 2 winds. The center of the phenomenon made landfall at 6:00 pm (ET) near the town of Creole, with maximum winds of 105 mph (165 km / h).
Although its strength began to be felt since the afternoon, the cyclone hit "almost exactly" in the same place where Hurricane Laura (Laura) struck less than two months ago.
It is an area still devastated by Hurricane Laura, which caused at least 27 deaths in late August.
Delta is the 10th named storm to hit the continental United States this year.
