Police units in Tartous Governorate have arrested 14 persons suspected of having started a number of fires that broke out in the governorate during the past days.

Al-Jasem praised the efforts of the firefighting teams, civil defense personnel, the army, the police, the health, the governorate, service institutions and the civil society in extinguishing the fire, stressing that the fire did not enter any house and no family was displaced in the governorate, but a few houses were evacuated in some areas as a precautionary measure, including Al Barqiyah and Jdeidah Hazour. There are no deaths or suffocation cases in the province due to the fires.
Al-Jasem pointed to the great efforts made by the fire brigades, civil defense personnel, the army, the police, health, the governorate, service institutions and the civil society, which prevented any deaths or suffocation cases in the governorate due to the fires, indicating that the evacuation of a number of houses in some areas, including Al Barqia and Jdeideh Hazour, came as a precaution. .
In turn, Attorney General Tartous, Judge Muhammad Suleiman indicated that in the event that the accused are transferred to the competent court, they will be dealt with according to the crime, given that each crime has a legal description. He pointed out that the concerned judges were asked to tighten the punishment for the perpetrators of fire crimes, based on the Minister of Justice’s circular on this subject.
