The city council approved this and other changes to the youth council's statutes on Tuesday.
Youth councilor Simon Vielreicher presented the change requests to the city council.
So far, all Geretsrieder could run for the youth council who were over 14 and not yet 19 years old.
In future, young people between the ages of 14 and 21 should be able to stand for election.
Many young people would only be interested in politics at an older age, argued Vielreicher.
In future it should also be sufficient if the young people have their second home and center of life in Geretsried.
The term of office is also to be shortened from three to two years.
City Councilor Dr.
Detlev Ringer from the Greens did not want to go along with the desired increase in the age limit.
“We didn't want a young adult council,” he said.
His group colleague Peter Curtius, himself a former youth councilor, said that he had initially had concerns.
"But it is not so easy to get the youth council full." The city council finally approved the amendment to the statutes that the youth council had drawn up itself.
After a successful ice cream campaign in July (there was a scoop of ice cream for every one-year student), the youth council laid out flower meadows on traffic islands in September with the support of Inken Domany from the Environment Agency.
The planned bike tour with the mayor should be made up for in the spring.
The youth council also wants to organize a blade night next year.
