Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not address his partner in the government, Defense Minister Bnei Gantz, at all in his speech in the Knesset yesterday.

The day before, Ganz had described in a post he wrote his party as "the last line of defense."

He wrote sentences such as "We will make sure that there are no political measures here that stem from personal political needs."

At the end he wrote "Imagine for a moment what everything would have looked like here if we had left the foundations of all of us to those who plotted to overthrow them."

These are extreme statements, and naturally in order to respond to them the Prime Minister would have needed extreme statements to the contrary.

Netanyahu apparently chose to ignore the man and his savage accusations.

Yesterday, Bnei Gantz had already made all sorts of promises regarding the opening of the closure and the lifting of the state of emergency, in order to return the arena to the riots of the black flags.

As if a question had ceased even for one day from their street propaganda.

At least Netanyahu responded to this in his speech when he referred to the second stage of dealing with the corona plague: "Populism has won. The citizens of Israel have lost."

Netanyahu set a clear boundary between the successful confrontation with the epidemic in the first period, as opposed to what was perceived as a failure in the second period that led to the current closure.

"(In the first period) it succeeded because we were united," the prime minister said.

Indeed, it was precisely with the formation of the so-called unity government that unity was violated;

Above the unity, supporters of Gantz and Ashkenazi hung black flags and began to hold a wave of continuous protests that mesmerized the media and sowed Boca and Bulka in Israeli society.

So much so that President Rivlin was required yesterday by Menachem Begin to speak at the beginning of the December 1944 season. "The air is full of gunpowder ... civil war," Begin said at the time.

"We will not go to civil war despite all the provocations."

But Rivlin is captivated by the romance of crisis-ridden local history.

This is the difference between a romantic leader, like him, and a practical leader like the prime minister who looks to the future and works for present achievements.

Days will tell if the election campaign for the next round of elections opened yesterday.

The second wave of the epidemic led to a rise in the power of the right in the polls thanks to Naftali Bennett.

True prophets generally did not gain popularity before proving themselves on the ground.

Faced with the possibility of a very large right, close to 70 seats, but split between two leading forces, one can already see the next voter failure.

It is difficult to shake off the feeling that the powerful propaganda of the left, although not gaining extra power for the left, manages to confuse right-wing voters.

Public opinion however has already been trained to accept another election campaign.

Even Ganz appears to be ready for this move.

The question is whether it will be in December or March 2021 as a result of the non-transfer of the budget.

The two factors that will objectively affect the organization of the right are the results of the US election in about three weeks, and the morbidity situation in the three months before the election.

Netanyahu has an advantage over the effect of the US election: No matter who wins, Netanyahu will be strengthened. If Trump wins, there will be a strong backlash that signals that the successful partnership between him and Netanyahu must continue. And experienced, leading a regional coalition against Iran and blocking pro-Palestinian policy initiatives.
