Biden, 77, is looking to become

the oldest person to assume the presidency

of the United States.

If he wins, he would inherit a nation shaken by an advancing pandemic that has left more dead than in any other country and divided after a year marked by the largest demonstrations against racism and police brutality, from a series of cases that unleashed the fury.

In the midst of a slow count, the results would only be known around the Argentine morning.

Biden and Trump shared the victories in the first states that already have results: 126 to 89 in favor of the Democratic leader.
