Diego Maradona's health became a matter of state.

The Gymnastics DT underwent a successful operation last night on Tuesday night after a subdural hematoma was detected at the base of the brain and he spent the night in an intensive care room at the Olivos Clinic.

His lawyer, Matías Morla, was the first to deliver news this Wednesday.

"I just contacted the authorities of the Olivos Clinic. Diego is well and continues his recovery. Having detected the hematoma in time was key and it was due to the professionalism of the entire medical team and the studies they did. Thank you Dr. Luque for your work, "Morla wrote on his Twitter account.

Morla's word came after Dalma, one of the Ten's daughters, also tweeted a message of thanks after the operation was successful.

"I just got out of the clinic and I just want to thank everyone for the constant displays of love for my dad, for my sister and for me," wrote the eldest of the heiresses of the Ten in the first minutes of Wednesday.

Along with the emoji of a heart, the actress highlighted: "Thank you to all who prayed for him."

The personal doctor of the Gymnastics coach, Leopoldo Luque, was in charge of speaking with the journalists gathered at the door of the Olivos Clinic and giving the first medical report after the intervention that lasted for about an hour and a half.

"We did the surgery with a selected team, with several renowned neurosurgeons. It lasted an hour and twenty and Diego tolerated the surgery very well. He is awake and everything is very well," Luque commented amid loud shouting from Maradona fans who had gathered at the door of the health center.

When asked when Diego could leave the clinic, Luque chose caution and stated that he "will continue to be observed" to see his condition in the coming days.

He remarked that "Diego is under control" and that he still "has a drain" that the doctors will remove this Wednesday.

How long will the postoperative last?

It depends on how Maradona's body responds after the intervention.

It is possible that he will stay between three and five days in hospital to also continue with the treatment that began in the clinic in La Plata, where he arrived with a picture of anemia after weeks in which he had a significant low mood.
