Biden won the battle at the White House after a close recount in key states.

Biden reiterated his call for unity.

"With the campaign over, it is time to put the anger and harsh rhetoric behind us and come together as a nation."

"It is time for the United States to come together ... We are the United States of America.

And there is nothing we cannot do if we do it together

.

President Donald Trump has so far refused to acknowledge defeat and recognize Biden as president-elect.

He assured that his lawyers will go to court on Monday in Pennsylvania, where they have filed actions to stop the count.

"This election is far from over

," Trump said in a statement sent minutes after it was known that Biden had taken all 20 electoral votes from Pennsylvania.

Trump claimed that Republican observers were not allowed meaningful access to observe the counting process and again cast doubt on the validity of the votes, with no evidence.

"Legal votes decide who the president is, not the media," said the president, who accused Biden of "posing as a winner" with the support of the press.
