"

I won this election, by a lot,

" declared the President of the United States,

Donald Trump

, in the last message he posted on Twitter before the victory of his rival, Democrat Joe Biden, was confirmed.

That was the last public pronouncement by Trump in the run-up to the vote count that confirmed that Biden prevailed in the key state of Pennsylvania and thus obtained the numbers necessary to become the next president of the United States.

I WON THIS ELECTION, BY A LOT!

- Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 7, 2020

Trump avoided recognizing the victory of the Democratic candidate and redoubled his questions about the results on Saturday.

"The election is far from over," he said Saturday, again pointing to Biden for having "rushed" to "falsely" claim victory.

Donald Trump's legal offensive against the election result will begin "on Monday to ensure that electoral laws are respected and that the rightful winner is chosen."

This was stated by the outgoing president, who insisted on pointing out that "this election is far from over" and that "Joe Biden's victory has not been certified in all states."

"We all know why Joe Biden has been falsely rushing to proclaim himself the winner, and why his allies are trying so insistently to help him: they don't want the truth exposed. The basic fact is that this election is far from over." Trump said in a statement issued by his campaign.

The president, who is playing golf at his club in Sterling, Virginia, added that "Joe Biden has not been certified as a winner in any state, and even less in the hard-fought states that are heading for mandatory counts, or in which our campaign has presented legal demands on the validity and legality that could determine the final winner ".

"Starting Monday, our campaign will begin to defend our case in court to ensure that electoral laws are fully enforced and the proper winner is proclaimed," he stressed.

Biden, the presidential candidate who has won the most votes in US history, surpassed the magic number of 270 delegates he needed in the Electoral College after it was confirmed that he will win in Pennsylvania.
