Do you speak or not?

The question is the one that travels the television screens and of the main means of the United States.

And it has a single protagonist: Joe Biden.

For hours, the doubt has been the same, since it transpired that the Democratic candidate for the presidency of the United States was preparing to give a speech in prime time, while the electoral count continues, in which he is ahead in the key states from Georgia, Nevada, Arizona and Pennsylvania.

Biden's advance in the count is bad news for the current president, Republican Donald Trump, who will win in all probability in Alaska and leads the scrutiny in North Carolina, but necessarily needs a victory in Pennsylvania, Nevada and Georgia to continue having. options to occupy the White House for another four years.

It was speculated that the Democrat would come out to speak if the country's main news networks, which follow the minute-by-minute vote count, gave him the winner.

Hours later, it was said that he would speak even without the certainty of being the declared winner, to carry a message of confidence to his voters: that you have to be patient and that he will end up winning.

The truth is that around 11 p.m. Argentine time, there are only versions, nothing concrete.

Biden started the day this Friday, the third after Tuesday's vote in the US,

leading the count in Pennsylvania,

although the count is still ongoing and a winner has not been officially declared.

The one who was vice president during the Barack Obama Administration (2009-2017) leads there with 49.5% of the votes to Trump, with 49.2%.

A victory in Pennsylvania would allow Biden to overcome the barrier of 270 delegates

in the Electoral College that are required

to secure the White House

: if it is imposed in Pennsylvania it would already reach 284 or 273 if it takes into account Arizona or not, according to projections of the main media.

At the moment, Biden has 264 delegates or 253, depending on whether he takes Arizona or not, where some media have not yet projected his victory there, which others did on election night such as the AP agency and Fox News, while Trump has 214.

The uncertainty about the results of the presidential elections continues to keep the United States in suspense this Friday.

Also this Friday, the Pennsylvania Republican Party asked the Supreme Court of the United States to stop the counting of votes that are arriving late.

Trump's party asked the court to stop scrutinizing thousands of mailed ballots that arrived after Tuesday's election day and disqualify them.

The majority of those votes are thought to be in favor of Biden.

The petition asks the court to order Pennsylvania elections officials to confiscate all ballots received after Tuesday and to review the Pennsylvania government's decision to accept them.

"Given the results of the general election on November 3, 2020, the vote in Pennsylvania may well determine the next president of the United States," Republicans said.
