President Alberto Fernández described the triumph of Democrat Joe Biden in the US presidential elections as

"a change of era"

and considered it "very important" for the Latin American region.

"It was an impressive election in terms of the number of voters, unusual in the United States.

And I think it is a change of time.

For Latin America it is very important, because these last four years

were four very difficult years in the relationship

between Latin America and Latin America. the United States, "Fernández said in statements to the press.

In addition, he said he "hopes" that this result will lead to a new stage in the relationship between the United States and the region.

"I think Latin America needs it a lot, and the United States too, because

they were not four pleasant years

for Latin America," he said.

Fernández arrived in La Paz at 20 on Saturday, to participate on Monday in the inauguration ceremony of Luis Arce, the newly elected president of Bolivia.

Regarding the first, he said that

"it was a pleasant meeting"

and "enjoyable", since they have known each other "for many years".

"What I did raise is the great opportunity we now have to fully

consolidate the link between Latin America and Europe

, which has been pending for many years, and which goes far beyond the Mercosur-European Union agreement," he said.

Fernández said that Felipe VI "shares" that position, and highlighted "the effort that Spain has always had to maintain the Ibero-American summits."
